Opto-Mechanical Simulation Engineer (FEA/CFD)

Position Summary: We are leading an effort to connect a skilled and motivated Opto-Mechanical Simulation Engineer for our high-tech client, a leader in R&D and manufacturing of systems saving human lives and improving their health. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in simulation techniques, focusing on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and experience in Bill of Materials (BOM) control via PLM systems, robust design methodologies, or practical knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct FEA and CFD simulations to support product development and optimization.
  2. Interpret and analyze simulation results to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  3. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate simulation findings into product designs.
  4. Develop and maintain simulation models and ensure their accuracy and reliability.
  5. Document simulation processes, results, and methodologies in detailed reports.
  6. Stay updated with the latest developments in FEA and CFD technologies and tools.
  7. Support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities related to product performance.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Proven experience in FEA and/or CFD, with a strong understanding of the underlying principles.
  3. Proficiency with drawing design standards for precision CNC machined parts.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Additional Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of material properties and their impact on simulation results.
  2. Expertise with CAD software, Solidworks.
  3. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and how they relate to product design and performance.
