Job Title: Optical Assistant
Location: Manchester
Salary: Up to £26,800 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday

About the Role:

Join our clients friendly and supportive team as an Optical Assistant. We are looking for an experienced and confident professional who can manage their workload independently while delivering exceptional patient care. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-established practice catering to both NHS and private patients, offering a varied and rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Dispense lenses to all levels, providing tailored advice to patients.
2. Conduct pre-screening tests and assist with frame selection.
3. Teach patients about contact lens usage and care.
4. Handle reception duties, including booking appointments and managing patient records.
5. Perform stocktaking and manage cash transactions.
6. Upsell lenses and educate patients on premium options, particularly Zeiss lenses.
7. Ensure high standards of customer service and patient satisfaction.

Who We’re Looking For:

1. At least 2 years of experience in an optical practice.
2. Confident in managing their workload and working independently.
3. Strong interpersonal and sales skills with the ability to upsell effectively.
4. Proficient in digital focimeter usage and comfortable with both NHS and private patients.
5. Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.
