Astute's Power team is partnering with a world-wide Sugar Producer to recruit a Process Technician for its site in Newark.
The Process Technician role comes with a starting salary of £44,300 + benefits package.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Reporting to the Area Manager you will:
- Manage the safe operation and efficient performance of the refinery and energy areas of the plant with a full understanding of how the plant operates.
- Provide expertise in the plant operation with full shift responsibility.
- Undertake inspections and monitor the plant, understanding abnormal situations and how to deal with these.
- Respond to any abnormal or emergency operating conditions to maintain production, whilst ensuring all health, safety, and environmental regulations are complied with.
- Be responsible for the generation of steam and electrical power for internal and external customers.
- Carry out diagnostics as required on areas of plant in the event of any defects.
- Carry out first-line maintenance on plant as appropriate and skilled to do.
- Able to work a shift pattern made up of days and nights.
Professional Qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A level 3 qualification in Process Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
- An IOSH Working Safely certificate is highly advantageous.
- Experience on a steam raising plant, in a similar heavy industrial setting such as power generation, CHP, refineries, etc.
Personal Skills:
The Process Technician role would suit someone who has:
- Good communication skills and ability to prioritise work.
- Ability to demonstrate practical hands-on skills, competence, and knowledge of the process.
- Experience working in a lean operating environment.
