Operations Service Engineer

Are you an experienced Operations Engineer looking to join a dynamic energy company at the forefront of the UK’s transition to renewable power? We are seeking a skilled professional to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our flexible power generation assets.

Requirements:

1. Hands-on experience with reciprocating gas engines, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
2. Strong understanding of asset optimisation and performance monitoring.
3. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
4. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
5. Familiarity with peaking power projects and asset management systems (advantageous).
6. Experience overseeing third-party contractors or engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Safely operate and maintain flexible power generation equipment in line with health, safety, and environmental policies.
2. Optimise plant availability, responding to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
3. Maintain accurate records of equipment status, spare parts, and maintenance activities using company systems.
4. Identify and escalate technical or safety issues promptly, ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
5. Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors, ensuring work is completed to required standards.
6. Support the commissioning of new sites, providing operational input during testing and handover.
7. Participate in an on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support when necessary.

Salary & Benefits:

1. Base salary: £46,500 per annum.
2. Performance bonus: Up to 15% of base salary (paid quarterly).
3. Overtime: Competitive fixed-rate pay for call-outs and additional hours.
4. Additional allowances: Unsociable hours (£1,500 p/a) and on-call (£200 p/a).
5. Company vehicle & fuel card provided.
6. Holiday: 25 days + public holidays.
