Operations Manager - Root Veg

Cambs Farm Growers based at Hainey, Cambs are recruiting an Operations Manager – Root Veg to be responsible for the day-to-day management of all staff within the root veg growing and harvest operations.

The successful candidate will support the Crop Manager while having responsibility for the Root Veg growing and harvest operations daily. Executing weekly operations including planting, irrigation, spraying, and harvest in line with growing and harvest programmes and operational plans done by the Crop Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day managing of the Root Veg operation, land preparation, irrigation, harvest field operation, focus on topping and raising teams, alongside field conditions and winter machinery maintenance.
• Assisting the Crop Manager in managing and developing the field teams.
• Manage your working environment such that it is both safe and reflects a professional attitude.
• Keeping relevant administration up to date.
• Supporting the Crop Manager in certain duties related to machinery PPM.
• Health and safety in the workplace, working to the business objectives.
• Build a strong relationship with the direct Root Veg team and the wider farming operations.
