Main duties of the job

As Operations Manager for the £280m turnover Queen Square Division within the Specialist Hospitals Board of UCLH, you will work with a high performing team to ensure high quality, efficient, timely and patient-focused clinical services. With a track-record of delivery of demanding agendas, you will lead your team in providing exceptional management support.

The role covers a range of support to delivery for specialities including neurology, specialist services, outpatients, as well as interventional and inpatient directorate, as well as Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, and diagnostics. The post is responsible for incredibly exciting developments such as capital projects and business continuity for estates and facilities related programmes for the division.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the tactical and operational management of Queen Square Operational Services and provide advice and support on all aspects of non-clinical services, modernisation and business issues. The post holder, in conjunction with the Assistant Divisional Manager, will support estate queries, challenges and business continuity plans around infrastructure, estates and projects on behalf of the divisional leadership team at Queen Square.

  • Previous managerial experience in a large and complex organisation preferably within the NHS.
  • Proven experience in service improvement and development
  • Proven experience in effective management of budget and effective leadership of staff.
  • Proven experience in business planning and in the development and effective implementation of complex strategic & operational plans.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of current issues and practices within the NHS.
  • A proven record of success in managing change while also developing and maintaining high standards of quality.
