Operations Manager Early Help - Health Visiting
Have you got experience as a Senior Manager with good understanding of health promotion for children and their families, recognising the value of supporting the health and wellbeing of children in the early years? We are looking for an Operations Manager to join the Early Help Service for children aged 0-19/25 and their families. This role focuses on delivery of the 0 -5 Healthy Child Programme.
As this is a role within the Integrated Early Help service, this secondment opportunity is being advertised internally through both ESHT and ESCC recruitment portals. Candidates should apply through their current employing organisation.
Main duties of the job
You will support the delivery of high-quality care, with a focus on improving outcomes for children as well as leading the implementation of service improvement projects.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Working knowledge of the structure, functions, statutory responsibilities and values of NHS and/or Children's Services and relationships with other agencies.
- The ability to prioritise work where there are competing demands, whilst also leading their team to do the same.
- Building strong working relationships across the integrated service, between ESCC and ESHT colleagues is important, and we are looking for a person who understands the challenges other members of staff face.
- Ability to monitor and improve the quality of local service provision through audit and data analysis with effective budget and resource management.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- RQF level 6 qualification in relevant subject e.g. Social Worker, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, Youth Work, Registered Nurse or Midwife, Teacher, Early Years Professional.
- Evidence of ongoing relevant professional training and development equivalent to master's level.
Skills
- Innovative leader able to inspire and motivate teams and individuals to the benefit of organisation, staff and service users.
- Able to present complex information on professional and governance issues to colleagues and those from other professions; management teams, service users and public stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor and improve the quality of local service provision through audit and data analysis with effective budget and resource management.
- Ability to translate local and national policy into practice and implement new service initiatives with evidence of effective planning for service change and development.
- Well-organised critical thinker with practical problem-solving skills and interagency/partnership skills, demonstrating political and organisational awareness.
- Ability to plan and organise a varied workload for self and others, working to short deadlines and using ICT and technology effectively for the role.
- Working knowledge of the structure, functions, statutory responsibilities and values of NHS and/or Children's Services and relationships with other agencies.
- Knowledge in the area of specialism e.g. Healthy Child Programme, Keywork, Early Years Community or Youthwork, SPOA with a clear understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures.
- Experience of effective service management in Children's or Health Services including staff supervision, performance management, motivation and team building.
- Experience of service planning, delivery and holding teams and service providers to account.
