Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Ridham Dock Road, Sittingbourne, Kent, ME9 8SR

Salary: GBP57,475 per annum

Countrystyle Recycling are proud to operate the largest independent fleet of modern waste management vehicles in Kent, London and the South East. Our fleet vehicles include dustcarts, skip trucks, hook loaders and bulk haulage lorries.

About the role:
Oversee the day-to-day operations at our Ridham Dock and Ridham Sea Terminals, ensuring all site activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory standards. You'll play a key role in driving operational excellence while supporting the company's business goals and financial targets.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The daily management and allocation of duties of all operational staff at the Sites.
  2. Liaise with individual waste stream recycling Supervisors and all Operational Teams to ensure effective delivery of their respective job specifications and daily work/output allocations.
  3. Assist in the delivery of all relevant budgets in relation to:
    1. a) revenues, costs and underlying profitability;
    2. b) providing timely data to the Finance team; and
    3. c) generation of purchase orders and invoice authorisation to ensure costs are accurately allocated.
  4. Control of sub-contractors and their activities on the Sites.
  5. Manage interface with the Plant Workshop to ensure servicing and repair works are carried out in a timely, safe and cost effective manner with due consideration of production demands and in accordance with the Company's Planned Preventative Maintenance regime so as to minimize downtime.
  6. To achieve all output/production targets across all processing and other operations as set by Senior Management and to report daily on meeting these targets.
  7. Provide cover for other positions within the operational roles at the Sites where necessary as directed/requested and in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  8. Ensure compliance of all operations at the Sites in accordance with all permits, permissions licenses and regulations applicable to such operations (including all associated documents such as the Fire Prevention Plan) and to have overall responsibility for such compliance.
  9. Ensure that the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) system is integrated with organisational requirements in order to retain all ISO certifications and to meet all testing protocols and specification standards for material manufactured at the Sites.
  10. Ensure all appropriate safety equipment and PPE is used at all times.
  11. To effectively manage stock rotation for all relevant operations to comply with Site Permit and all Senior Management instructions.
  12. Organise for purchase orders to be raised and issued in advance of purchasing any items or services as dictated by Company Policy.
  13. Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures.
