THE ROLE - Operations Manager

We have a rare opportunity for a driven Operations Manager to join a successful engineering service provider to the Oil and Gas industry. You'll ideally be striving to reach directorship in the future.

You will be able to evidence working in an SME level business with a minimum turnover of £20m and driving company performance through close collaboration with the team.

You'll need to have exposure to the Oil and Gas industry to be successful in this role due to the knowledge base required in the industry.

DUTIES - Operations Manager

1. Set goals for Engineers and ensure clear direction regarding company priorities.
2. Recruit, train, and develop personnel within the Operations Departments.
3. Conduct performance reviews and regular appraisals to maintain team morale.
4. Allocate projects, assign leads and backups, and ensure clear kick-off meetings.
5. Ensure succession planning and the development of an adequately trained team.
6. Provide progress updates on key projects, operational activities, and any challenges faced.
7. Contribute to senior management decisions and strategic direction.
8. Report monthly revenue target achievements to the Leadership team.
9. Oversee the Engineering resource allocation.
10. Monitor and improve the Field Service utilisation to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
11. Monitor project progress, reporting, and financials to maintain budgets and timelines.
12. Conduct regular audits and visits to key suppliers.
13. Oversee the delivery of large customer support projects, ensuring key milestones are met.

BACKGROUND - Operations Manager

• MBA highly desirable but not essential.
• Degree level education.
• Gas Turbine / Power / Oil & Gas experience.
• Experience managing subcontract engineering.
• Experience of operating at senior/board level.
• Experience of managing complex small teams.
