About the role:
The Operations Manager will play a crucial role in executing their business plan by enhancing the organisation, processes, safety, efficiency, and reliability of their UK operations. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of their import, storage, and distribution business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee UK operations to achieve business goals and ensure seamless coordination between producers, logistics, and customers.
- Lead the Customer Service and Operations team to deliver timely order fulfilment, manage enquiries, and improve processes.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining high standards and working towards top-level certifications.
- Manage inventory and stock, optimising levels, reducing costs, and coordinating seasonal requirements.
- Develop and implement efficient processes while managing and coordinating cross-functional operational teams.
- Oversee warehouse and transportation management, ensuring safe, efficient storage, timely deliveries, and cost-effective strategies.
- Work with HR to plan and recruit operational roles, train team members, and uphold professional standards.
- Drive strategic growth initiatives and support ad hoc business improvement projects.

- Proven experience in operations management in Wholesale Food importation and distribution to restaurants, hotels, delis, supermarkets
- Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent people management and collaboration abilities
- Highly organised and process-driven to develop, implement and improve processes.
- Very high attention to detail and consistent approach to work
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of the impact decisions have on the business
- Outstanding communication skills across all channels
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passion for Greek food and wine and eagerness to expand product knowledge
Location and Hours
- Bermondsey, London (5-minute walk from Bermondsey tube station)
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 18:00 with an hour for lunch
- On-site role (work from home by exception only)
