This role is tailored for an accomplished leader with multisite experience and a proven track record in large-scale leadership. Role Overview: As an Operations Director at DHL Supply Chain, you will spearhead strategic initiatives in budget and resource management, operational performance, and talent development, while effectively engaging with customers to negotiate and fulfill their requirements.

What does the role entail:

  1. People Leadership: Champion team engagement by fostering a sense of ownership and commitment among team members. Your leadership will inspire and empower the team, creating an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to contribute to our shared vision.
  2. Operational Leadership: Lead a team of Site Managers to run world-class, safe operations that deliver value through a robust continuous improvement agenda, ensuring we consistently exceed customer expectations.
  3. Customer Relationship Management: Act as the primary interface for customer negotiations and issue resolution, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen and deepen customer relationships.
  4. Project Leadership: Oversee a large customer rationalization project, ensuring effective management and governance of multi-customer contracts and obligations.
  5. High-Performance Culture: Cultivate a culture of respect and excellence within your team while effectively managing a matrix environment. Focus on enhancing management capabilities through performance management, coaching, mentoring, and professional development.

Here's what we need from you:

  • Strong background in linefeed operations within the automotive and manufacturing sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of managing an EU freight network through third-party hauliers.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies, focusing on colleague engagement and addressing customer cost challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a UK collection network utilizing DHL and company assets effectively.
  • Proven experience in overseeing customer management at a senior level.
  • Skilled in leading and managing change across multiple locations via a central distribution hub.
  • Project management and strategic relationship building.
