Job Title: Operations Director

Location: Hadfield Services (HSL) - Burton Upon Trent

Job Summary: As the Operations Director, you will lead the operational strategies of our manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient processes that align with our financial and strategic goals. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of production, operational excellence, and direct oversight of all live projects within the business. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring the financial health and profitability of the company. You will report directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing plant to ensure products are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
  2. Develop and implement operational strategies aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency and reducing costs, with a strong focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and ensure financial stability.
  3. Monitor and report on manufacturing KPIs, adjusting strategies as needed to meet business goals.
  4. Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing operations team to achieve set KPIs.
  5. Ensure compliance with all health and safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Direct management and accountability for all live projects within the business, ensuring alignment with company objectives and customer satisfaction.
  7. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  8. Collaborate with the Technical Director to develop cutting-edge technical advantages in manufacturing processes and technologies, enhancing competitive positioning and operational efficiency.
  9. Assume a key role in ensuring the financial health of the business by controlling operational costs and maximizing project profitability.
  10. Collaborate with other department heads to integrate operations with overall company strategy.
Experience Required:
  1. Experience of leading and managing in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record in KPI management and project oversight.
Experience Preferred:
  1. Prior experience in the automotive, defence, or clean technology industries.
  2. Experience managing large, diverse teams and complex projects with a clear focus on operational metrics and live project management.
Skills Required:
  1. Strong leadership and strategic decision-making capabilities.
  2. Excellent organisational and project management skills.
  3. Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics, with a focus on KPI development and monitoring.
Skills Preferred:
