Job Summary

This is a fixed term appointment, for up to 23 months within the Director of Regulation (DoR). We provide operational support to operational inspection, investigation and specialist teams based in various offices around the country. We are looking for individuals skilled in organising and leading, to effectively manage the delivery of a broad range of administrative support functions and are keen to become successful leaders.

Please note: Part time working hours are available for this role. We can accept part time applicants who can commit to working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management and direction to a team of operational support staff.
  • You will work closely with your Senior Administrative Manager, Heads of Operations and regulatory colleagues across operational divisions to understand and support delivery of inspections and investigations in accordance with the yearly HSE workplan.
  • We are seeking candidates with effective communication and leadership skills. You will have experience of working with others, delivering at pace, managing a quality service, and making improvements to service delivery.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to agreed deadlines, and completion of regular and timely data quality checks, managing and mitigating risks given essential GDPR considerations.
  • As a line manager, you will lead and proactively engage in personal and team development and performance management.
Person Specification

You will work closely with your Senior Administrative Manager to lead and motivate operational support staff, encouraging consistent high-quality service delivery.

  • Experience of working within an operational environment.
  • Experience of leading teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • You will be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office Packages including: MS Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook.

  • Time management and planning skills.

Selection Process Details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.

As part of your application, you will be asked to complete an anonymised Personal Statement, of no more than 750 words, which demonstrates how you meet the essential skills and criteria in the person specification.

You will also be asked to complete 250 words detailing an example relating to the lead behaviour 'Delivering at Pace'.

Sift Information

The sift will take place from 28th April when you will be assessed on your Personal Statement and lead behaviour.

Interview Information

Interviews will take place from 12th May when you will be assessed on the behaviours listed within the job advert as well as strengths.

In the event of a high number of applications at sift or that pass the interview standard, we will assess on the lead behaviour Delivering at Pace.
