Are you passionate about operational planning and looking to make a meaningful impact?

Join us as an Operational Resource Planning Assistant based near Bristol at Iron Acton Substation, Latteridge, BS37 9TX, where you will play a vital role in supporting our Planning Engineers in managing a rolling operational and year ahead plan. This position requires travel to sites in South Wales, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Somerset and Devon, and comes with a job requirement company car (Hybrid or full electric).

The South West Planning Team plays a crucial role in optimising and prioritising operational plans for a range of engineering and construction projects throughout South Wales and the South West of England. Our primary objective is to support the business in achieving its asset intervention and maintenance targets as well as projects to connect customers to our network.

As the Operational Resource Planning Assistant, you will collaborate closely with the Planning Engineers to ensure the effective management of operational plans whilst adhering to established processes. It will be essential for you to document all planning decisions accurately in the relevant systems to maintain transparency and accountability. You will work in partnership with regional teams to resolve conflicts in the plan, seeking national support when necessary to prioritise critical works. Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy will be paramount in all aspects of your work.

Additionally, you will analyse data to identify opportunities, such as bundling work to optimise plan efficiency, and re-prioritising works. Regular engagement with Operations Managers, Substation Supervisory Engineers, and Project Leads will enable the delivery of our portfolio of works. Must haves:

  1. NVQ L3 / ONC - Engineering or Business qualification or relevant experience.
  2. Experienced in planning processes and systems (Eg Ellipse, Salesforce, PowerBI or similar systems)
  3. An understanding of Asset Management
  4. Excellent attention to detail and data analysis
  5. A Full UK Driving Licence.

Pay and Benefits

  1. £41,561 to £46,450 pa + Training and Development + Company car.
  2. Hours - 37 Monday to Friday
  3. Enhanced holidays to 26 days annual leave + 8 statutory holidays.
  4. Option to buy/sell holiday days.
