Job description

Copello have partnered with a defence business based in Havant, in the recruitment of an Operational Purchaser on a contract basis. Contract length expected to be 6 months, minimum.
Please note candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Processing requisitions and placement of purchase orders in SAP.
  2. Expedite purchase orders as required in-line with manufacturing requirements.
  3. Supplier liaison - monitor performance through KPIs and foster collaborative relationships.
  4. Contribute to procurement department cost down targets.
  5. Support with the Indirect procurement activities as required.
  6. Support internal colleagues with the indirect purchase process.
  7. Support the resolution of invoice queries.
  8. Stock and maintain the stationery cupboard.
  9. Book and escort visitors where required around the facility.
  10. Address and resolve PPE-related issues as they arise.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience within a supply chain role, preferably within defence, manufacturing or engineering environment.
  2. Strong IT skills - familiarity with SAP or MRP/ERP system experience.
  3. Strong Analytics Skills.
  4. Proven ability to grasp and retain new concepts with little guidance.
  5. Problem Solving and decision making oriented.
  6. Good communication and team working skills.
  7. Strong personal drive used to take own initiatives and be proactive.
  8. Ideally have or working towards CIPS qualification.
