Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To develop and maintain imaging performance monitoring systems to ensure the standardisation of service delivery across the department; delivery plans and local commissioning requirements.
  • Responsible for the Radiology Information System including data quality and active monitoring reports and production of reports for the department.
  • Manage the central admin within the department, including budgetary control, appraisals; establishment overview and skill mix to ensure organisational efficiency and clinical excellence.
  • To develop, implement and maintain a performance monitoring framework which clearly identifies progress against Imaging Business Planning objectives and targets, which highlight exceptions in key performance areas setting out agreed risk action plans (Preparation Speciality Performance Review).
  • Responsible for service planning, ensuring the department is developed through the Specialities and is actively monitored through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support the development of clinical services through identifying opportunities for improvement and project managing the implementation of appropriate developments/changes.
  • Assist with Business Continuity Plans.
  • Responsible for timely provision of capacity and demand analysis to the Head of Operations - Imaging and senior management team to support the development of agreed activity plans within relevant timescales across all modalities.
  • Monitor the achievement of specialty activity/recovery plans within the department to ensure both local and national performance targets are met.
  • Work in collaboration with the senior management team in the delivery of waiting time targets and other KPIs through analysis of capacity and demand, forecasting and producing appropriate action plans.
  • Take a lead role in developing timely and effective information for the department regarding specialty performance through liaison with the Performance and Informatics Department.
  • Work to develop, maintain and improve systems across the department to achieve key targets and maximise utilisation of resources and income.
  • Act as a source of advice for clarification and interpretation of performance information, data definitions and data quality issues to the management team.
  • Support the senior management team to consistently deliver key targets through identifying training needs, producing and delivering training resources and acting as a source of expertise.
  • Project management of specific projects as directed by the Head of Operations - Imaging.
