Salary: £59,000 - £92,500

Contract type: This position is Permanent

Working pattern/flexible working: The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The team aims for around 1-2 days in the Bracknell office each week to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.

Location: This role is based at our Bracknell Head Office.

Interviews will take place: week commencing 12th May.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Achieving profit and customer outcomes agreed in the joint business plan.
  2. Managing the commercial contract with your assigned provider.
  3. Managing internal stakeholders keeping them informed and engaged in the plan for your provider and the broader on demand plan.
  4. Working as part of a team of managers to ensure the overall business plan for On Demand grocery is achieved.
  5. Taking a long term view of the direction of the relationship in line with the broader Waitrose strategy using customer, market and other data to identify opportunities for growth.
  6. Taking the lead on strategic initiatives associated with the provider pulling together of key SMEs to ensure delivery.
  7. Support the On Demand Lead and wider team in building the strategy for current and future plans for On Demand services.
  8. Establish and develop relationship with providers to grow the business in a mutually beneficial way.
  9. Continuously develop plans with the matrix of experts to improve the performance of the service for both customers and profit.
Essential Skills/Experience
  1. Proven ability to negotiate and manage commercial contracts to ensure the best outcome for the partnership.
  2. Experience which demonstrated effective stakeholder management and influencing skills internally & externally.
Desirable Skills/Experience
  1. Knowledge of the On Demand sector and the key marketplaces.

As an On Demand Grocery Manager (On Demand Grocery is our Third-Party Delivery Channel with Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat) you will own the commercial relationship with on demand marketplace providers with responsibility for maintaining the relationship, contract, overall financial performance and growth of the business. You will be the primary contact in Waitrose for your allocated provider.

You will develop positive and productive relationships with the providers and know their business and requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring a Joint Business Plan that delivers value for Waitrose and the provider is developed and delivered through strong collaboration and negotiation with a cross functional team of experts.

You will ensure providers and Waitrose fulfil their contractual obligations, actively manage any commission rate rebates and hold providers to account on key compliance areas and ensure they comply with operational SLAs and brand standards as appropriate.

You will support the On Demand Lead in setting a clear vision and medium and long term plan for the providers you are responsible for. You will bring customer insight, knowledge of the market and your knowledge of the providers strategic ambitions and plans to the table.

You will work closely with a matrixed team of colleagues from Trading, Fulfilment, Product, Marketing and Finance to deliver the agreed outcomes for your provider. Externally you will foster and maintain relationships with all levels in the provider organisation.

As this is a fast growing area of the business you may be required to lead multiple providers and new business opportunities.
