About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will take a leading role in overseeing engineering governance and coordinating multiple disciplines within major transmission projects. You will act as the key point of contact for overhead line engineering, supporting the project team in managing risks and driving excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineer who wants to play a hands-on role in shaping the UK’s power transmission network.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as the lead overhead line engineer on 400kV, 275kV, and 132kV transmission projects.
  2. Oversee engineering governance and coordinate all engineering disciplines within projects.
  3. Represent engineering at strategic, commercial, programme, and site project meetings.
  4. Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Support project teams in managing engineering risks and identifying opportunities for innovation.
  6. Collaborate closely with a Senior Overhead Line Engineer and report to the Engineering Manager.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Qualifications: HND or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Chartered Status: Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  3. Industry Experience: Transmission infrastructure expertise is essential.
  4. Education: Degree qualification in an engineering discipline.
  5. Technical Knowledge: Strong experience with plan/profile designs.
