An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board's evolving Heart Failure service. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapy Technician to join our team.
The aim of the service is to achieve and maintain optimal occupational performance in the areas of physical, psychosocial health and well-being.
The post holder will be expected to provide occupational therapy intervention for service users attending the ABUHB Heart Failure Rehabilitation Programme. Occupational Therapy intervention is delivered on a group and individual basis in both community and hospital type settings, including the persons own home, place of work or community leisure facility.
The post holder will independently provide interventions, promoting independence; self-management; compensatory strategies, including functional assessment and education. They will undertake specific technical and administrative tasks as delegated by the lead or supervising occupational therapist.
The post holder will carry a delegated caseload of service users with less complex occupational therapy needs and will undertake assessments and reviews following screening by the occupational therapist. They are required to respond flexibly to changing needs within both the occupational therapy and heart failure service and have experience and knowledge of being involved in group work.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
