Job description

Salary: £43,617 - £45,862 per year

Contract Type: Permanent

You will work alongside Social Workers, para professionals and Care at Home teams, undertaking assessment, care management and practical interventions. We have occupational therapists operating within Reablement services and the 3 main locality bases. All Occupational Therapists operate under the Council’s WORKSMART arrangements which promote mobile and flexible work practices. You will therefore be expected to travel throughout Renfrewshire and be able to work evenings and weekends.

You will provide appropriate advice, guidance and practical support to individuals, carers and groups within the community, engage in rehabilitative work, adhere to legislation, standards and procedures and ensure effective use of resources.

It is essential that you have a Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health Professionals’ Council; previous occupational therapy experience, preferably in a social work service setting; have proven assessment skills, effective IT, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; be motivated; flexible in your approach, with a commitment to social work values and the ability to build effective relationships with partner agencies.

You will be expected to record and monitor work using SWIFT; therefore, experience of using electronic case record systems is desirable.

Full training and support will be given to ensure that you are able to maintain the service’s commitment to continuous improvement.

A driving licence is desirable.
