Applications will be accepted from those wishing to be considered for this role on a part-time basis. If you are applying for this role on a part-time basis, please tell us in the Additional Information section of the application form.

The opportunity has arisen for a full-time Community Occupational Therapist to join our forward-thinking, dynamic team. Based in various locations across East Lothian (East Lothian Community Hospital or John Muir House in Haddington and Musselburgh Primary Care Centre), our service is committed to developing effective and efficient ways of enabling people affected by disability to achieve their personal outcomes.

The role includes assessment and planning intervention to support people in reaching their goals. This may include rehabilitation, treatment planning, assessment for small equipment and minor adaptations, and when required, longer-term intervention assessing for major adaptations and equipment. There are also opportunities to work with our Major Adaptations team when progressing major adaptations to owner-occupied properties.

This role is a mix of short-term crisis work and longer-term complex cases. This allows you a variety of case work and helps balance the workload. It would be advantageous to have a broad range of knowledge; however, training can and will be provided where required. We have a wonderful supportive team and work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, community care workers, and the telecare team.

You must hold an Occupational Therapy Diploma or Degree Qualification to apply and be registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
