About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated school team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). You will be responsible for providing intervention, therapy, and pupil learning support, ensuring pupils receive tailored occupational therapy to aid their development and integration within the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions for pupils
Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, providing progress reports for annual reviews
Provide targets for integration into Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents and teaching staff
Maintain accurate intervention records and participate in appraisals
Supervise students and therapy assistants when required
Ensure safeguarding support for pupils both onsite and during external activities
Participate in staff and therapy team meetings, wholeschool events, and provide cover as needed
What We Are Looking For:
Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
Minimum 2 years' experience in an OT position
Experience working with children with SEN/SpLD
Strong IT literacy for clinical and administrative tasks
Knowledge of relevant risk management, health & safety, and child protection practices
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience working in a school setting
Ability to implement behaviour support strategies and create structured care plans
Sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills for complex cases
