Job Title: Band 7 Occupational Therapist

Location: Ashford, Kent

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Ongoing

Responsibilities:

1. To take a leadership role in the clinical delivery and evaluation of therapy services in General & Specialist Medicine.
2. To provide clinical specialist Occupational Therapy skills for both general and specialist medical and frailty patients.
3. To provide a key focus for therapeutic clinical expertise, high quality advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team.
4. To establish and develop sound communication networks, along with other clinical specialists across the Health Economy, in order to provide a high quality, efficient service.
5. In conjunction with the MDT, develop and deliver postgraduate training relevant to clinical specialty.
6. In conjunction with the Site Lead and Clinical Therapy Leads, ensure clinical governance targets are met, including the development of clinical standards and protocols, specialist evidence-based practice, audit, research, clinical and non-clinical risk management.
7. Complete assessment, treatment and evaluation of holistic therapy intervention.
8. Manage the development of integrated care programmes and discharge plans with the patient.
9. Line manage (including clinical supervision) staff / team (e.g. Band 5, Band 6, therapy assistants and students) - review of clinical activity and efficiencies.
10. Provide professional advice and leadership.
11. To actively work as a member of the multi-professional team to provide high quality therapy intervention to patients.
12. To lead the MDT as required.
13. Manage a caseload of patients on a daily basis consisting of patients with complex needs associated within a specific speciality.
