Job description

Role: Occupational Hygienist

Salary: £42,000-£60,000 DOE

Location: UK (Home-Based)

Our client, one of the UK's largest Occupational Hygiene consultancies, is looking for an experienced Occupational Hygienist to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a fast-growing business, working on a variety of projects across the UK and potentially international locations.

While the company is based in Stockport, this is a home-based role with nationwide travel to client sites. You'll play a key role in assessing and controlling occupational hygiene risks in various workplace environments.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conducting occupational hygiene assessments, including:
    1. Workplace Air Monitoring
    2. Workplace Noise Assessments
    3. Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) Examination & Testing
  2. Engaging with clients, including site visits for inductions, contract work, and review meetings
  3. Ensuring compliance with Element's accredited Quality Management System
  4. Producing high-quality technical reports with detailed findings and recommendations
Requirements
  1. Strong understanding of occupational hygiene with practical consultancy experience
  2. BOHS or IOA qualifications in at least one of the following:
    1. W501 (Measurement of Hazardous Substances)
    2. W503 (Noise Measurement and its Effects)
    3. W505 (Control of Hazardous Substances)
    4. W507 (Health Effects of Hazardous Substances)
    5. P601 (LEV Proficiency)
  3. Additional experience in Hand-Arm & Whole-Body Vibration Assessments, COSHH Risk Assessments, Legionella Risk Assessments, EMF Assessments, or Environmental Noise is desirable
  4. Full UK driving licence (a company vehicle or car allowance is provided)

  2. Able to manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  4. Ambitious and eager to progress within a supportive team, aiming for CertOH or LFOH accreditation
