Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Occupational Health Specialist Nurse Advisors to join the in-house Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust Occupational Health service. The post holders will support the coordination and delivery of high-quality, evidence-based Occupational Health to Trust employees and external clients, promoting health and wellbeing and improving the quality of working life.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake clinical activities as directed by the OH Senior Specialist Nurse Lead, OH Consultant or their nominated deputy.
- Use the Occupational Health database for entering clinical activity, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Undertake effective employment screening, sickness absence reviews, and case conferences.
- Act as an autonomous practitioner and specialist advisory service to managers and external contract stakeholders.
- Provide treatment, advice, and follow-up on management of body fluid exposures.

Qualifications
- NMC Registration
- RN – Adult branch
- Demonstrable clinical expertise and commitment to professional development
- Awareness and understanding of current health issues
Experience
- Significant experience in Occupational Health practice
- Nursing Standard setting, audit, and use of evidence-based practice
- Sickness absence/return to work assessments
- Supervising, teaching, and mentorship skills
- Vaccination/Immunisation clinics service working
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Previous experience working within the NHS or other health care organisation
Knowledge
- Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Audit/Quality issues
- Health and Safety legislation
- Current OH issues within the NHS
- Knowledge of NHS policy, both locally and nationally
