Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support delivery of Occupational Health expertise across all clinical service channels with clinical advice and information on cases.
  2. Deliver complex case management and/or clinical advice through the identification of possible reasons for ill health or injury.
  3. Provide advice, recommendations, and evidence-based treatment to address the presenting problems and solutions to underlying issues.
  4. Consider the most appropriate intervention needed to reduce the risk of employee absence and the need for modified duties.
  5. Supervise technicians delivering customer health surveillance programs ensuring compliance with legal and best practice requirements.
  6. Conduct relevant clinical scrutiny and auditing, record any shortfalls, and undertake necessary actions.
  7. Report back trends from auditing and plans to reduce risks.

About the Role

Occupational Health Nurse

Location: Tewkesbury (hybrid working considered after probation). Some travel may be required.

Status: Full-time, 37.5 hours Mon - Fri between 8am and 6pm

Required Qualification(s): NMC Registered Nurse with Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health

Salary: £30-45k depending on experience

Essential Skills

Essential Qualifications:

  • NMC Level one registration.
  • Minimum 5 years general nursing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an OHNA.
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health or equivalent.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and relevant legislation.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • HAVs Tier 3 qualification
  • Health surveillance qualifications - e.g. audiometry

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills
  • Excellent understanding of occupational health and maintains current qualifications
  • Able to gather and understand business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques and link this back to subject discipline
  • Previous experience within Occupational Health and Case Management with sound understanding of operational integration
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

This would suit those from a background as a Nurse, Occupational Health Nurse, or OH Assessor.
