Job description

Occupational Health Advisor (022684) Warrington, England

We are looking for an Occupational Health Advisor to join us to cover our Warrington and Crosby sites.

What you'll be doing

As an Occupational Health Advisor you will:

  1. Provide new starter screening for all colleagues to ensure compliance with statutory and company standards.
  2. Ensure health surveillance is undertaken on all colleagues in accordance with the risk assessment legislation.
  3. Respond to sickness absence referrals and provide guidance to the business regarding rehabilitation programmes, work adaptation or redeployment so that appropriate action can be taken.
  4. Ensure the safekeeping of all confidential medical records in accordance with the business and NMC guidelines to ensure auditable information is in place.
  5. Provide advice on individual health issues and promote health education within the workplace to maximise colleague understanding.

Please note: This role requires flexibility to accommodate colleagues across all shift patterns.

What we’re looking for

  1. Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and successfully revalidated every three years.
  2. Experience within the occupational health arena, preferably food manufacturing but not essential.
  3. A desire to nurture a career in the public health and wellbeing sector with a keen interest in undertaking the SCPHN qualification in occupational health.
  4. Fully conversant with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant guidance and data protection legislation.
  5. A good knowledge base of health promotion and health and safety at work.
  6. Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  7. Team player with a strong desire for success.
