Key Responsibilities of a Nursing Home Manager:
Provide strong leadership and management to ensure a well-run, high-quality nursing home.
Maintain compliance with CQC standards, governance, and policies.
Be people-focused, ensuring a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Develop and mentor staff, fostering a stable and long-term team.
Ensure high-quality clinical care and excellent resident experience.
Work closely with owners in this family-run, non-corporate setting.
Oversee safeguarding, quality audits, and operational efficiency.
Nursing Home Manager Requirements:
Nurse-qualified (RGN preferred, RMN considered).
Experience as a Registered Manager (Deputies looking to step up may be considered).
Strong understanding of CQC compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements.
Proactive leadership style—not just a “fixer” but someone focused on long-term development.
Excellent people skills, able to build positive relationships with staff, residents, and families.
Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
