TeacherActive is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioners and Nursery Assistants to join welcoming nursery settings in Colchester.

About the Role

As a Nursery Practitioner or Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of a child’s early learning journey. You’ll be supporting children aged 0-5 years in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. Every day is different – expect giggles, messy play, and the rewarding feeling of helping children develop socially, emotionally, and educationally.

1. Supporting children with play-based learning indoors and outdoors
2. Assisting with feeding, changing, and daily routines
3. Creating fun, engaging activities that promote development
4. Observing and recording children’s progress
5. Building strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
6. Ensuring a safe and clean learning environment at all times

Requirements

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent) is highly desirable

Relevant experience in a nursery or early years setting is essential – with or without formal qualifications

A solid understanding of the EYFS framework

A warm, caring, and positive attitude

Excellent communication and team-working skills

Reliability and a genuine passion for working with young children
