Nursery Nurse (7/09346) (Fixed Term)

Kelloholm Nursery

Salary: £16,125.19 - £17,202.27

You will be required to work 21.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Nursery Nurse to join the staff team within Kelloholm Nursery. Kelloholm Nursery is situated within rural Dumfries and Galloway and is currently registered to accommodate 60 pupils, enrolling eligible 2-year-old children and offering 1140hrs to families.

Kelloholm Nursery is very much at the centre of the community and works closely with all partner agencies. It is very well resourced and benefits from a large outdoor area, sharing space within the school for sports activities and a large open playground that includes green field areas and a garden area.

Dumfries and Galloway Council's Nursery settings may operate between the hours of 8.00am - 6.00pm, and employee working patterns will be required to meet the needs of the service.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Applicants for Nursery Nurse Posts should be registered with the SSSC.
  2. These posts are considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment.
  3. Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years will need to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.

This post is fixed term for up to 7 months and may be suitable for secondment, with agreement from your line manager required before applying.
