Job Title: Nursery Practitioner
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Overall Job Role

1. Deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years.
2. Support the Room Manager with the daily running of the room.
3. Ensure the room and resources are safe and appropriate for children, staff, and visitors.
4. Develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.
5. Act as a key person by observing, assessing, and planning for each individual child.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work collaboratively as part of the team within your room and the wider nursery setting.
2. Support the Room Manager with the effective daily running of the room.
3. Maintain a sound knowledge of company policies, procedures, and expectations.
4. Act as an excellent role model for the staff team and children.
5. Take responsibility for excellent hygiene, health and safety, and security practices within the nursery.
6. Assist in planning and providing appropriate daily activities in line with EYFS guidance for your key children.
7. Uphold the highest level of safeguarding practices, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
8. Conduct observation, assessment, and planning for your key children, ensuring they are making progress.
9. Collaborate with outside professionals when required.
10. Build trusting relationships with parents and families.

Qualifications (Essential)

1. Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of the Early Years Sector.
3. GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Grade A-C.
4. Paediatric First Aid (if the qualification was obtained after 2016).

Relevant Experience and Skills (Essential)

1. Experience working in a nursery or similar environment.
2. Previous experience as a key person.
3. Some knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
4. Experience working effectively in a team.
