Salary: £36,800 per annum

Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time - 40 hours per week

Spring Wellsprings is a 45-place nursery offering affordable, high-quality childcare in Somerset. At Spring Nursery Wellsprings, the team ensure children feel happy and settled, offering a huge variety of activities, opportunities to grow and socialise. The nursery prides itself on creating child-led opportunities for babies and children to learn, develop confidence and have fun providing high-quality childcare.

About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active Nursery Manager to join and lead our team at Spring Wellsprings to provide a safe, caring, fun and stimulating environment. You'll provide the highest standard of leadership and form strong and supportive relationships not only with your team, but also with our parents and children.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery and work to develop, oversee and manage high quality, child-centred provision of early years' education and day care services for children aged from birth to five years. Providing direct management of your team of staff, together you'll promote and establish a working environment where the emotional, physical, social, psychological, developmental and educational well-being of children is paramount.

Some other key responsibilities of your role will be:

• Actively engaging in marketing and advertising in order to develop an excellent reputation for the nursery.
• Supporting the development of an innovative approach to children's learning and play that is demonstrated by teams working well together within the setting.
• Undertaking the Designated Safeguarding Person and Registered Manager role in relation to Care Inspectorate Wales registration.
• Overseeing the recording and reporting of planning, observation and progression for all children including a full and thorough assessment of the setting against the National Minimum Standards and Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care framework.

In the role of Nursery Manager, we're ideally looking for someone who has:

• Minimum level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
• Leadership and management experience in a childcare setting.
• Experience of working in a senior role within a nursery setting or centre working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their families.
• Leading a staff team, including supervision, work allocation, assessment or training and professional development.
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of the National Minimum Standards, Care Inspectorate Wales requirements, Early Childhood Play, Learning and Care and relevant current legislation.
• Understanding of child protection processes, safeguarding and working with vulnerable children.
• Commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory working practice with children, families, colleagues and the community.
