Salary: GBP30,000 annually

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday

Smart Education is currently recruiting for a Nursery Manager to work in a nursery based in Sutton Coldfield.

The Nursery Manager provides overall management of the nursery ensuring the setting fulfills all legal and statutory requirements.

The Manager is part of the Nursery Management Team and provides effective supervision, leadership, and mentoring to the team of educators in the nursery.

Job Responsibilities:

• To develop the nursery in line with the setting's ethos and the statutory framework in Early Years.
• To work in partnership with the Directors, Ofsted, and other professionals as required; and to maintain accurate documentation of all communication and information.
• Demonstrate and ensure good practice and compliance with the EYFS Framework through use of policies, procedures, and tools.
• Encourage and model appropriate behaviour and expectations.
• Ensure accurate and effective children's records are kept in accordance with DVN policies and procedures.
• To be responsible for health and safety, including but not limited to the personal safety of children and staff, equipment safety, and fire drills.
• To be the Lead Person for Child Protection and to ensure that any child protection concerns are acted upon immediately and appropriately.
• Respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality.
• Lead, promote, and implement policies relating to diversity and equality.
• Participate in recruitment, selection, induction, and retention of staff in a cost-effective and timely manner.
• Update the Nursery Directors on matters affecting the nursery, including staffing and performance issues, through one-to-one meetings or immediately with serious non-compliance issues.
• To work alongside the business manager regarding financial matters.
• To monitor expendable materials and equipment and ensure that new orders are placed in a timely manner.
• Lead and promote parent partnerships, including organising events for parents.

Job Requirements:

• A full and relevant level 3 Diploma in Childcare/Early Years
• In-date First Aid training
• In-date Designated Safeguarding Lead training
• 3 years post-qualification experience
• An understanding of leadership and mentoring skills in an early years environment
• Financial Management Experience
• A full and enhanced DBS
