Job Title: Nurse Manager
Location: Wigan
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (plus occupancy bonus)
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Care Setting: 50-Bed Care Home

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead a dedicated team in our 50-bed care home in Wigan. This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and skilled individual with a passion for elderly care and a strong track record in nursing management. As Nurse Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the care home, ensuring high standards of care are consistently maintained while fostering a positive, supportive environment for both staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of nursing and care staff, providing direction, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
  2. Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and maintain high standards of care and safety for all residents.
  3. Oversee the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring each resident’s physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  4. Manage staffing levels to ensure safe and effective care delivery, including recruitment, training, and retention of staff.
  5. Monitor and maintain accurate records, including care plans, medication management, and health assessments.
  6. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance care quality and operational efficiency.
  7. Act as the main point of contact for residents’ families, addressing any concerns and ensuring excellent communication.
  8. Maintain financial oversight of the care home, including managing budgets, controlling costs, and improving occupancy rates.
  9. Lead the implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure a safe and supportive care environment.

Key Requirements:

  1. Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC pin.
  2. Proven experience in a senior nursing role, preferably in a care home or elderly care setting.
  3. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  4. In-depth knowledge of CQC guidelines and regulations.
  5. Ability to manage and motivate a team while maintaining a high level of resident care.
  6. Experience with care planning, medication management, and staff development.
  7. Sound financial management and budgeting skills.
  8. Passion for delivering high-quality care and improving the lives of residents.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Leadership or management qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 5 or equivalent).
  2. Previous experience in a Nurse Manager role.
  3. Experience with occupancy growth or business development within a care setting.
