Job Responsibilities

Operates instruments in Nuclear Medicine to produce quantitative scintigram images and measure concentration of radionuclides in body organs and in-vitro laboratory procedures to assist physician in diagnosis of patient illness. Administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager.

Qualifications

Requires successful completion of formal academic training in radiology technology. Bachelor's degree preferred. Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine, and registration with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.), or the American Society of Clinical Pathology. CT experience/registry preferred. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
