Job Description

What will you be doing?

As a Nuclear Engineer, you will join a team in Derby/Warrington to support our activities within the Nuclear Sector.

Your main responsibilities will be:

1. Support design activities for Reactor and Core Systems, progressing from Final Concept Definition (FCD) through to the early stages of Detailed Design.
2. Take ownership of cross-functional tasks that contribute to the continuous improvement of system design processes and procedures across the organisation.
3. Engage regularly with key design stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and adherence to governance processes, including gated design reviews, definition reviews, and decision reviews.
4. Develop comprehensive design documentation, including System Design Descriptions, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Functional Bill of Materials, Requirement Definitions, Decision Records, and other essential design materials.

Who are we looking for?

1. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management.
2. Knowledge of Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) operating principles.
3. Preferably some familiarity with reactor core physics.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

1. Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, chemical engineering or a field related to Nuclear systems.
2. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
3. Proficient in delivering presentations and producing high-quality reports.
