NPD Technologist (FOOD)

The Company

With the mission to delight their key retailer customers with exciting own-label products, this chilled food manufacturer is looking to add to their creative NPD team with the addition of an ambitious and capable NPD Technologist.

Please note this role requires a full UK driving licence.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an NPD Technologist to join a vibrant business where you’ll work closely with the wider NPD, process, and technical teams on key projects, contributing to the development of new concepts and updating existing products in line with customer briefs.

This multifaceted role will involve working closely with suppliers, building strong rapport with key contacts, and managing resources to ensure the consistently flawless creation of product ranges.

You will ensure the highest quality at all stages of the process, calculating nutritional data and product feasibility, as well as being mindful of costings and technical requirements. You'll enjoy the challenge of keeping one step ahead of your competitors, researching seasonal food trends, and undertaking competitor analysis whilst benchmarking in order to bring a high level of innovation to fast-moving categories.

The Person

We are seeking an ambitious and creative NPD Technologist looking for a dynamic and fast-paced role within the challenging world of the chilled food arena.

If you’re an ambitious graduate with a food science or related degree, who also possesses an exceptional understanding of food trends, ingredients, and seasonality, then this could be the role for you. A bonus will be if you’ve previously gained exposure to key aspects of the NPD process within a food manufacturing environment.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and organization skills coupled with the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly and get started on new projects. You’ll also have a real passion for food, be happy to get hands-on in the development kitchen, and thrive on the hustle and bustle of a busy environment.
