The Position

Supply Chain - This role leads the O&M & Asset Management Supply Chain teams regionally with accountability for the people, processes and supply chain relationships required to deliver services across wind, solar, BESS, H2, biomass and hydro to achieve the Regional Services business plan in alignment with the Global services business plan.

Spare Parts & Reconditioning - This role leads the Spare Parts & Reconditioning in North Europe Region with accountability in P&L, people and processes, being responsible for execution and value capture of the existing contracts and business development in terms of new services, new customers or expanding market share within current footprint, to achieve Regional SP&R business plan in alignment with the Regional Services Business Plan. Regional SP&R Director must ensure top safety performance, cultural fit to RES values, leadership and talent development, resourcing.

Key Accountabilities

Supply Chain Strategy

  • Input into the O&M & Asset Management supply chain strategy (People, Process, Supply Chain) from the North Europe perspective to ensure success regionally alongside the responsible accountable business leads;
  • Support the implementation of the approved supply chain strategies and monitor and report progress against agreed KPIs for North Europe;
  • Lead and adapt the Supply Chain structure taking in consideration specific projects, organization model within North Europe or any cause that could affect the performance;

Supply Chain Project Delivery (Operation & Maintenance - Purchasing & Logistics, Spare Parts, Tools & PPE)

  • Support the Global Services Supply Chain Director in the definition of required strategic suppliers (spare parts, logistics, tools & PPE) including tendering, recommendations, and negotiations to deliver the optimal strategic contracts;
  • Be aligned with the global purchasing strategy in terms of global agreements, commitments and suppliers performance;
  • Monitor the market in terms of competitors and partnerships specially in Spare Parts & Reconditioning Suppliers, new solutions, new strategies, etc
  • Develop new strategical relationships applicable to North Europe O&M Business, align with global purchasing department the strategy with key global suppliers with strong capabilities in North Europe;
  • Lead the definition of the logistics strategy, taxes and duties, and their monitoring and optimization, establishing the correct Incoterms strategy depending the country where we operate in the region;
  • Align with Warehouses Management department the correct logistic strategy ensuring a correct deliverable along North Europe Region.
  • In conjunction with the Global Services Supply Chain Director define the key account leads for strategic suppliers (inc acting as the lead for designated key suppliers) to deliver agreed objectives (cost, product visibility & quality) and acts as the ambassador of the business with the services supply chain within North Europe;
  • Ensures that we lever the value of the global/regional strategic relationships and implementation of the defined framework agreements, if any;
  • Ensure review of requests and advise on customer enquiries to provide a service that meets their requirements including supporting meetings with customers to increase sales;
  • Lead the tracking of costs associated with the supply chain activity in order to define the margins for the purchase & sale of components;
  • Lead the controlling & tracking of inventories along with compatibility of components to effectively decide on orders to be placed for customers & internal departments in order to optimise resources;
  • Collaborate with the rest of the regions in terms of inventories adapting the stocks levels to the necessities and operational demand forecast;
  • Ensure the coordination of best practices across the Group to define the optimal deliverables from the supply chain and ensure that RES learns the necessary lessons from the supply chain to deliver class leading services to our clients;
  • Ensure the capture of supply chain market intelligence (new products, risk allocation changes etc) and sharing such intelligence across supply chain team and wider business team and implementation of such lessons into the Services Supply Chain Strategy;

Supply Chain (Project Delivery - Asset Management)

  • Provide input into the resource requirements to support asset management supply chain activity in North Europe;
  • Lead the asset management supply chain activity - end to end - pre-qualification - contract award and supplier post contract evaluation for North Europe;

Spare Parts & Reconditioning Strategy

  • Lead and implement the Spare Parts & Reconditioning Business strategy (People, Process, Pricing... ) for North Europe Region for the different technologies to ensure success regionally in line with the Business Plan and in a completely alignment with Sales department and technology leaders;
  • Lead and implement the North Europe Reconditioning Strategy ensuring a correct deliverable for external customers and internal reconditioning necessities in O&M projects;
  • Lead and adapt the Spare Parts & Reconditioning structure taking in consideration specific projects, organization model within North Europe or any cause that could affect the performance;

Spare Parts & Reconditioning Business

  • Support the Spare Parts & Reconditioning Director in the definition of business strategic;
  • Be aligned with the global business strategy in terms of customers, global agreements, commitments, etc...
  • Align with Sales Department the specific strategies per customer, technology, country, etc...
  • Build long lasting profitable relations with customers;
  • Expand and develop business leading the sales and commercial management for the Spare Parts & Reconditioning business, controlling the SP&R P&L accounting in the different technologies.
  • Monitor the market in terms of competitors and partnerships, new solutions, new strategies, etc...
  • Participate with Supply Chain in the definition of key strategic partnerships improving continuously services portfolio in terms of Spare Parts & Reconditioning.
  • Define the necessities to Supply Chain for new technologies, characterization, specific services or any other requirements to ensure success regionally,
  • Participate in the definition of the correct logistic strategy in terms of Incoterm, country logistics costs, warehouses deployment or any other aspect that could impact in the SP&R performance;
  • Ensure highest standards on safety, quality, operational and financial performance;

Reconditioning

  • Support the Spare Parts & Reconditioning Director in the definition of Reconditioning required strategic;
  • Manage the resources (technical and people) of the internal Reconditioning Workshops deployed regionally.
  • Ensure a sharing of knowledge between the global department and local reconditioning workshops,
  • Define and follow up with engineering services the technical necessities for the correct development of internal reconditioning strategy.
  • Evaluate technically and financially, with the support of engineering services and Supply Chain, the reconditioning partners/suppliers.
  • Aligned with Supply chain, develop the external reconditioning suppliers' network to provide a successful internal and external service;

People

  • Lead the Regional Supply Chain team ensuring the team are delivering on agreed priorities of the business in line with Services Supply Chain strategy and defined processes. Be a role model for integration;
  • Ensure effective internal communication and coordinate across functions to drive alignment with supply chain strategy, best practice sharing with particular emphasis on efficiency improvements and cost reduction leading supply chain activity;
  • Act as a substitute for Global Services Supply Chain Director, upon request, in internal and external discussions;
  • Lead the Regional SP&R team ensuring the team are delivering on agreed priorities of the business. Be a role model for integration;
  • Ensure effective internal communication and coordinate across functions to drive alignment with SP&R strategy;
  • Act as a substitute for Global Services SP&R Director, upon request, in internal and external discussions;
  • Be a role model for Health & Safety internally;
  • Work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, and employ outstanding talent;
  • Mentor and develop direct reports to foster key negotiation, contract management, supplier management, and leadership skills as appropriate.

Processes

  • Implement the required processes for effective supply chain procurement for Services (pre-qualification, tendering, contract award & performance evaluation) and ensure alignment with RES global policies and adapting the processes for the local regulations if it is necessary;

  • Participate into ERP roll out and ensure effective supply chain & SP&R implementation of the same;
  • Collaborate with Optimization Supply Chain department in term of development, adaptation and implementation of new procedures, tools or systems;
  • Evaluate and implement the solutions developed for Supply Chain Processes (Material request portal, Service Portal, PPE's management...), adapt it to the local regulations if it is needed;
  • Define the processes to ensure the correct delivery of parts and reconditioning in O&M contracts.
  • Ensures compliance with governance process for decision making;
  • Maintains responsibility for tracking the overall performance and cost data (historic and forecast data) of Services Supply Chain and secures feedback from the wider business.
  • Monitor the digital solutions (Ecommerce...) in the market with application in SP&R business;

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the O&M supply chain for wind, solar, BESS.
  • Understanding of the different supply chain strategies for North Europe adapted to each country.
  • Knowledge of the principles of supplier relationship management
  • Knowledge of international trade procedures, methods, restrictions, etc..
  • Valuable Knowledge of the supply chain tools/systems currently used (SAP, SAP Bone, Gmao, Myapps, etc...)
  • Commercial & business development, contract and financial management.
  • Transactional Sales models.
  • Organizational improvement and optimization processes.
  • Strategic business Vision, negotiation.
  • Language: mandatory English, highly valuable Spanish, valuable German.

Skills

  • Interpersonal/communication aptitude.
  • Proven ability to work strategically
  • High capacity for change and experience of leading and motivating other through change
  • Broad range of strategic, commercial and technical skills including and understanding of energy value chain economics.
  • Project management skills and experience.

Experience

  • Substantial experience in O&M in solar or wind but ideally both.
  • Demonstrable track record of developing productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Highly valuable, previous experience in Supply Chain Departments oriented to O&M activities.
  • Highly valuable experience in North Europe O&M market.
  • P&L responsibility similar or bigger than the current business size.
  • Experience leading international teams with different culture.
  • Experience in closing service deals, participating in tenders.
  • Experience working in matrix organization would be a plus.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate engineering of commercial degree or related professional qualification.
