Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides integrated healthcare services, including mental health, intellectual disability, and physical health services in a variety of settings, from the community through to acute wards, as well as in secure environments. We are a large, complex organisation with 11,200 dedicated colleagues, an annual budget of £682 million, and a local, regional, and national profile for our specialist services. We manage Rampton Hospital, one of only three high-secure hospitals in England, and two medium secure units in Leicester and Rotherham. We are also a key player in the Nottingham & Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System.
In late January, we were the subject of intense scrutiny and wider public interest in relation to Care Quality Commission reports with a rapid review into our mental health services announced by the Secretary of State. We fully accept the findings of the review, and we are dedicated to making significant improvements to ensure our patients receive the quality of care they deserve.
We are now seeking to recruit up to four Non-Executive Directors to join our unitary Board; to bring support and constructive challenge to leadership of our strategic direction. Accountable to the public and our membership through our dedicated Council of Governors, these roles will provide oversight, governance, and scrutiny at a critical time.
These roles require exceptional individuals; strategic leaders with Board level or equivalent experience gained in complex, dynamic, and multi-stakeholder environments either in the private, public or third sector. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas; leading cultural change, strategic oversight of large budgets, leadership of mental health or community health services either locally or nationally, and/or clinical leadership experience, whether as an Allied Health Professional, Healthcare Scientist, Nurse, or Doctor. Prior experience of being a Non-Executive Director in the NHS would be advantageous, but not essential.
We aspire to be a pro-equity organisation where everyone can bring their whole professional self to the Trust. We know that key to achieving this is to have diverse representation at Board, including those from recognised protected characteristics, and those with lived experience of the services we provide. We encourage applicants from all parts of society and particularly welcome applications from Black and Minority Ethnic people, people with disabilities, and LGBT+ people, who are all underrepresented at this level in our Trust.
