Job description

Our client is Legal 500 and Chambers recommended as one of East Anglia's leading law firms.

The firm offers a broad range of legal advice to individuals and companies in respect of a large range of legal services both nationally and internationally and is consistently ranked highly for providing excellent client service.

They now wish to recruit a newly or recently qualified Construction Lawyer. Ideally, candidates should have had exposure to a broad range of contentious and non-contentious construction work during their training and/or within their current role, including, in particular, experience dealing with:

  1. Acting in adjudications and Technology and Construction Court (TCC) matters
  2. Providing high-quality, commercial advice to developers, main contractors, sub-contractors, and construction professionals
  3. Reviewing and drafting construction contracts and related documents
  4. Business development experience, including networking

The Construction team carries out a high calibre of work and has been credited with being one of the best in the region. Working with both companies and individuals, the team acts on a vast range of matters locally and nationally and prides itself on building strong relationships.

You must be able to:

  1. Manage your own caseload and assist others in the team
  2. Manage your own financial housekeeping
  3. Conduct meetings with clients both face to face and remotely
  4. Assess legal issues and advise accordingly/conduct legal research/advise on costs and scope of work
  5. Draft documents and letters of advice
  6. Keep up to date with law and practice
  7. Have excellent communication and team skills
