About The Role
At Morrisons, we're proud to produce and manufacture many of our own food products, helping us stay close to our customers' needs. You'll be part of an exciting team that creates delicious food products. Whether it's innovating new items or perfecting existing ones, your work will have a direct impact on our customers' tables.

As a key player in our product development team, you will ensure the New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) end-to-end processes are completed on time and in full for the site. This role is suitable for candidates currently in NPD Manager or Senior NPD Technologist roles.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  1. Development Process Management: Overseeing the development process, from the initial concept through to the process handover, including both NPD and EPD projects.
  2. Communication: Maintaining regular communication with key stakeholders to ensure everyone is updated on project progress.
  3. Project Management: Managing timelines and ensuring that all tasks are completed on time.
  4. Documentation: Ensuring that all required documentation is completed correctly for regulatory compliance and product consistency.
  5. Collaboration with Retail Teams: Collaborating closely with retail teams to meet their product briefs.
  6. Supplier Collaboration: Sourcing new raw materials and processes, and handling paperwork related to supplier interactions.
  7. Recipe Formulation: Formulating recipes and preparing product samples to meet specified briefs.
  8. Factory Trials: Coordinating and attending factory trials to ensure production processes meet quality standards.
  9. Production Runs: Overseeing pre-production and first production runs to ensure product consistency and quality.
  10. Benchmarking and Tasting Sessions: Running sessions to evaluate product quality and create action plans to address any issues.
  11. Post-Launch Reviews: Attending reviews to assess product performance in the market and making necessary adjustments.

About You

  1. Passion for the FMCG Industry: A genuine passion for the meat industry or pastry products and a dedication to delivering high-quality products to customers.
  2. Exceptional Communication Skills: The ability to inspire and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  3. Strong Project Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in New Product Development (NPD) with a track record of managing projects from concept to launch.
  4. Relationship Building Skills: Building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  5. Enthusiasm and Drive: A proactive and results-oriented mindset to drive projects forward.
  6. Organisational Skills: Strong skills for managing complex projects with multiple tasks and deadlines.
