As New Business Manager, you will drive the new business pipeline undertaking responsibilities such as identifying and developing initial new client opportunities for the agency, setting meetings, and managing the UK agency sales pipeline. The role will be a vital force in the agency's continued growth. Alongside this, you will be actively involved in the pitch process, creation of networking initiatives to increase the agency's visibility, and building and maintaining strong relationships with potential clients.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Delivery- Targeting and prospecting new business opportunities that would fit GPJ values, capabilities and commercial goals, including new markets.
- Building relationships with new clients, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these needs.
- Effectively convert leads into meetings with new prospects.
- Follow strategies and plans to successfully reach new business opportunities (via email, LinkedIn, phone calls).
- Organise and attend networking events to increase the agency’s visibility.
- Attend meetings with new prospects to present GPJ capabilities and ask relevant questions.
- Work with the Business Development Director with internal communications to department heads on new business opportunities and requests.
- Work alongside Business Development Director on answering RFPs and RFIs for new business opportunities and with relevant stakeholders across the agency.
- Carry out research for new opportunities for GPJ for new client approaches across sectors.
- Carry out competitor analysis and look for networking opportunities.
- Keep case studies for presentations up to date working alongside the Marketing Manager.
- Update CRM system with details of pipeline.
Creative- Attend key meetings and provide input related to marketing and new business needs and requirements.
- Work with creative to evolve meeting and credential presentations for specific clients.
Talent Management- Understand and be able to communicate knowledge of the skill sets and abilities across GPJ as an agency externally and internally.

Your Background, Skills, and Experience
- Proven track record of new business development.
- Relevant work experience - five years minimum of working in new business in an agency environment.
- Experience and knowledge of using Google Workspace.
- Experience with a CRM system.
- An effective relationship builder and communicator.
- A portfolio of contacts would be a welcome addition.
- Empathetic, adaptable, and demonstrates good organisational skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to work to deadlines, and flag any concerns with meeting deadlines ahead of time.
- Understanding of the marketplace GPJ operates in.
