This position is based out of The Woodlands, TX, New Orleans, LA, Little Rock, AR, West Monroe, LA or Jackson, MS. Those outside of these areas would be required to relocate. Job Summary/Purpose

This position ensures the stability and integrity of the data network environment. This is achieved by planning, designing, implementing, and operating the network environment and components across the organization.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

1. Provide detailed network designs in support of business requests. This includes routing, switching, load balancer, DDI, Mesh Networking and wireless technologies in Data Center environments, corporate environments, Operational Technology environments and Wide Area Networking solutions.
2. Develop implementation plans in support of simple and complex change requests.
3. Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. Perform analysis at physical, data plane, control plane, and higher order protocol layers in troubleshooting support.
4. Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
5. Oversee and implement new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
6. Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
7. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
8. Interact and coordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
9. Respond as the Data Network representative in an ‘on-call’ 24x7 rotation to resolve emergent issues in both Corporate, OT and Automated Metering / Distribution Automation network environments.
10. Work with Business and Project Management teams to review strategies and requirements. Ensure business and functional requirements are maintained throughout the development/configuration process. Review and analyze results to validate the functions of the delivered solution.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required for the position:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
2. Master’s degree is a plus.

Minimum experience required for the position:

1. 6+ years of relevant experience.
2. 3+ years’ solution design experience is a plus.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position:

1. Demonstrated knowledge / experience in Network Technologies including but not limited to networking protocols, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, network management tools, use of packet capture and other troubleshooting tools.
2. Understanding of routing and switching technologies, as well as network security technologies (firewalls, IDS, IPS devices).
3. Proficient in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, IS-IS) and other networking features -NAT, Access-Lists, route re-distribution, IP Multicast, VLANs, spanning tree, spine-leaf architecture.
4. Priority given to previous networking experience maintaining NERC CIP.
5. Strong understanding of IP addressing design.
6. Strong verbal and written communications skills.
7. Ability to document business requirements and develop technical solutions to meet the requirements.
8. Experience in financial management of project deliverables.
9. Experience as the technical lead for major implementation and/or network projects.
10. Knowledge and experience with cloud networking and automation/scripting tools are a plus.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities

1. Design, implement, and manage DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) solutions using Infoblox.
2. Maintain and optimize DDI infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
3. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for DDI-related issues.
4. Collaborate with network, security, and systems teams to integrate Infoblox with other infrastructure components.
5. Configure and manage DNS zones, DHCP scopes, and IPAM subnets within Infoblox.
6. Automate DDI tasks using scripting tools (e.g., Powershell, Ansible) and Infoblox APIs.
7. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., data retention, logging, and auditing).
8. Monitor system performance and proactively address any anomalies or performance issues.
9. Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and change management activities.

Certificates, licenses, etc. recommended for the position:

1. IT Consultant – Network Associate/Professional level– i.e., CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIP, etc.
2. Cloud certifications are a plus.
