Sitting within our Product Delivery team, the Software Developer works in an Agile and multi-disciplined team to develop and deliver our proprietary travel products and platforms.

Contributing to the development process, the Software Developer helps generate delivery ideas and solutions whilst encompassing the full spectrum of design, coding, manual and automated testing.

Playing a pivotal role, the Software Developer ensures successful delivery of key strategic objectives through the development of high quality software and supporting documentation.

What You’ll Do on a Typical Day

1. Develop web and server-side applications using C#, Typescript, TSQL, and other technologies from the Microsoft stack whilst following and improving upon coding style standards and guidelines.
2. Effectively use source control, write unit tests, and liaise internally with software testers to support the delivery of bug-free code.
3. Leverage knowledge to use the correct development approach, whilst adapting to the task at hand.
4. Follow best practices around .NET secure coding and PCI-DSS compliance.
5. Assist in the creation and progression of technical documentation for modules and features.
6. Participate in Agile ceremonies and departmental events.
7. Work with key stakeholders to understand, develop, and deliver customer requirements.
8. Use available technical and non-technical resources to develop and maintain a good understanding of the travel industry, our products and services offered.

What We’re Looking For

1. Accurate and methodical in working within guidelines and policies.
2. Excellent organiser with a strong ability to solve problems.
3. Self-disciplined with the ability to work autonomously and/or collaboratively within a team.
4. Adaptable by nature with persistence to see a job through to a timely conclusion.
5. Relationship-oriented, a good listener and communicator who can engage and adapt their approach to the audience.
6. Self-controlled and capable of communicating facts within the required area of knowledge and expertise.
7. An advocate of best business and technical practice.
8. Very good grasp of computer science or software engineering with the ability to articulate (or equivalent recognised experience).
9. Educated to A-Level.
10. .NET 5 onwards and development in C#.
11. HTML, CSS, JSON.
12. SQL Server 2008/12.
13. Source control such as Azure DevOps Repos and GIT.
14. Building scalable applications.
15. ORM and DI frameworks.
16. DDD and TDD processes.
17. Deployment tools and test automation framework.
