.Net API Developer, London/Remote, £565/day (Outside IR35)

A good client of mine, a professional services company, is seeking an experienced API Developer with expertise in C# .NET to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs to power their business applications and integrations. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver high-quality solutions within deadlines.

Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using C# .NET.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and refine technical requirements.
3. Optimize API performance and ensure scalability for high-traffic systems.
4. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
5. Implement and manage API security protocols such as OAuth and token-based authentication.
6. Perform debugging and troubleshoot production issues.
7. Integrate APIs with third-party platforms and services.
8. Write unit tests and ensure robust CI/CD practices.

Skills & Experience

Required:

1. 3+ years of experience in C# .NET development.
2. Strong experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
3. Familiarity with frameworks such as .NET Core or ASP.NET MVC.
4. Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and query optimization.
5. Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger or Postman.
6. Knowledge of authentication/authorization frameworks (OAuth, JWT).
7. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
8. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
