The Associated Press seeks an experienced journalist to join the Nerve Center as a news producer, joining the team tasked with ensuring the AP’s report — including spot news, politics, sports, entertainment, business and lifestyle content — meets the needs of AP’s customers on all digital and social platforms. This job covers U.S. overnight and early morning hours from London.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Nerve Center Director, the news producer will place an emphasis on cross-format global news coordination, planning and customer communications, and upholding AP standards and style. You will join a team that is committed to diverse and inclusive storytelling. You should have the ability and willingness to work at night and on weekends, or as coverage demands, as AP is a 24/7 operation.

Preferred Qualifications: We’re looking for an excellent photographer, video journalist, reporter or editor who excels at communicating with colleagues around the globe. You stay on top of the news across regions and beats. Applicants must have top-tier news judgement, a deep understanding of editorial standards and the ability to reorder priorities quickly. You must be able to work effectively as a member of a team and should have at least five years of full-time experience at a daily newspaper, broadcast station, online or digital news outlet, or an AP bureau or regional desk.
