Job description

MMP Consultancy are looking to recruit a Neighbourhood Response Officer to join a leading housing provider. This position is a temporary contract based in Leatherhead.


The goal is to ensure that the neighbourhoods are places that residents want to live. You'll achieve this by understanding local needs and working collaboratively with other teams, resident groups, and external partners, ensuring estates are clean, safe, well maintained, and that improvements are identified, planned, and delivered.


Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver neighbourhood plans and local offers.
  2. Deliver a programme of regular estate inspections and prioritise fire safety risk assessment follow-up work.
  3. Work with local residents groups to develop local community facilities, activities, and events as part of a neighbourhood plan and local offers.
  4. Collaborate with local partners such as safer neighbourhood teams, the voluntary sector, and youth services on neighbourhood safety and ASB issues.
  5. Liaise with other Clarion departments on neighbourhood improvements and services.
  6. Visit customers in breach of their tenancy or lease agreement where tasked to do so.
  7. Visit customers who may require additional support and assess whether they require ongoing tenancy sustainment.
  8. Conduct viewings and sign-ups or tenancy assignments.
  9. Attend court to represent Clarion and/or provide witness statements as required.
  10. Conduct evictions and attend stay hearings.
  11. Perform checks on property condition as required for the purpose of mutual exchange, during the tenant's notice period, or planned visits.
  12. Assist with major incidents and the decanting of tenants.

Experience Required:

  1. Customer focused.
  2. Enjoys working with people in the community.
  3. Able to develop effective working relationships with colleagues across Clarion and external agencies.
  4. Able to robustly and effectively challenge teams delivering services and improvements in the neighbourhoods to hold them to account.
  5. Confident and able to work alone.
  6. Experience of providing good customer service.
  7. Experience of dealing with customers in person.
  8. Experience of working with external partners.
