Additional Payments: Causal Car User Allowance

Casual Car Documentation - The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use.
Manchester City Council is recruiting new Neighbourhood Community Development Officers.

About the Candidate
We are looking for people who have strong experience in translating community engagement, development and participation into action, which positively impacts on the health and wellbeing of residents. You will be able to:· Work in the heart of Manchester’s communities to empower them to take ownership and drive positive change themselves. By engaging with residents and organisations to build strong relationships, foster a sense of belonging, and encourage participation, you will strengthen residents’ voice, community power, trust, equality and learning (the National Occupational Standards for Community Development Practice);
· Proactively understand the neighbourhood’s context, to lead culturally appropriate engagement, and advance ways of working and initiatives that promote equality and inclusion, and celebrate diversity; · Guided by the Our Manchester Strategy, Building Stronger Communities Together Strategy (lead role in delivery) and Making Manchester Fairer, as well as strong communication skills, you be able to work across the Council, external partners and Members in their democratically elected leadership role, to bring about social change to address inequalities. Experience in securing funding and grants is also important;
· Continuously improve practices through toolkits, innovation, evaluation, and peer support, ensuring good practices are embedded and celebrated at the neighbourhood level.
