About the role: Nature Crafts Learning for Leisure Tutor
Activate Learning is excited to launch a new Nature Crafts course within our Learning for Leisure program. We're seeking a creative and passionate tutor to develop and teach this innovative offering for adult learners in the Oxfordshire area. This is an excellent opportunity to shape a new curriculum that connects craft-making with natural materials and environmental appreciation.
Whether you're an experienced educator or a skilled craftsperson who can confidently deliver engaging workshops, we invite you to share your expertise with our diverse community of adult learners who are passionate about creative arts and the natural world.
We're expecting to run this course as a weekly two-hour course in daytimes or evenings over 12 weeks from September. Travel will be required in this role, as you will predominantly be working at City of Oxford College, but often times opportunities arise throughout our local community in Oxfordshire.
What do you need to be a successful Learning for Leisure Tutor at Activate Learning?
Ideally, you will hold a teacher's qualification or have experience of teaching within an education setting, such as Adult Education, National Saturday Club, Schools, or youth clubs. You will have extensive knowledge of the subject area and can engage and interact with students to ensure they are set up to succeed in their end goals.
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting, fun, and purposeful lessons to adults. You'll need to have a flexible mindset to connect with the communities you're teaching.
You will be joining an established and supportive team within our Learning for Leisure and Community Learning provision on a casual contract basis, and our positions offer a variety of flexible working patterns such as daytime, evenings, and weekends depending on the scheduled timetable.
