Job description

About Us

We are the independent expert in assurance and risk management. Driven by our purpose, to safeguard life, property, and the environment, we empower our customers and their stakeholders with facts and reliable insights so that critical decisions can be made with confidence.

As a trusted voice for many of the world’s most successful organizations, we use our knowledge to advance safety and performance, set industry benchmarks, and inspire and invent solutions to tackle global transformations.

About Energy Systems

We help customers navigate the complex transition to a decarbonized and more sustainable energy future. We do this by assuring that energy systems work safely and effectively, using solutions that are increasingly digital. We also help industries and governments to navigate the many complex, interrelated transitions taking place globally and regionally, in the energy industry.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing natural capital team doing innovative and challenging work across various infrastructure sectors. Our dedicated Nature team has several ecologists - both terrestrial and marine - that deliver site surveys and a suite of advisory services including biodiversity materiality assessments, biodiversity due diligence, TNFD assessments & reporting and nature-based solutions.

Biodiversity is a core element of DNV’s strategy, and we recently invested in a nature analytics platform that provides us with the latest nature data to inform our advisory services. We are also working to complement the nature data with our in-house physical climate risk assessment tool, Climatics, to provide an integrated nature-climate view to support our clients with their investment decisions.

As a Senior or Principal Natural Capital Consultant you’ll bring your experience of providing strategic and technical advice to a range of clients. This role provides a great opportunity to deliver and expand our range of solutions in the nature area and in creating innovative solutions in the climate-nature space. You will be supported by several technical experts in both the nature and climate areas.

You’ll find that the nature of your work is varied, challenging and fast paced as you manage or contribute to the delivery of projects for our clients, supported by a large team (currently about 160 FTE) and collaborating with colleagues across DNV’s services, leveraging our broader technical expertise and global footprint. In addition, you will use and enhance your skills to develop and maintain client relationships to support ongoing sales/bid development, and market research activities.

Joining our growing team will enable you to develop your client relationship and project management skills whilst further enhancing your existing technical capabilities. Our consultants evolve and grow in a variety of different ways, however typically they will specialise in a few technical areas/industries before progressing into project management, overseeing our key strategic projects.

What we offer

  • Non-contractual profit share scheme
  • Excellent development and career progression opportunities
  • Appropriate training to enhance your knowledge base to build your confidence and enable you to become more effective
  • Lifestyle benefits: 26 days annual leave + bank holidays, opportunity for up to 10 days unpaid leave, sabbatical leave, flexible working options

  • Travel benefits: Season Ticket Loan, Cycle to Work Scheme, Electric Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Scheme (for personal use)
